Silver Bullet Universe - Characters

Amazing-Man

John Aman is an orphan from the West, chosen for his "superb physical structure" to be raised by benevolent monks in Tibet for the first 25 years of his life. Each member of The Council of Seven, as the monks are known, trained him to a superhuman degree of physical and mental ability, while also giving him the ability via a chemical solution to disappear into a cloud of green mist, earning him the secondary title of the Green Mist. After receiving his final tests, he is sent into the world to use his skills and abilities to do good. Opposing Aman, as he was often known, is his nemesis the Great Question, a disgruntled member of the Council of Seven.

Atoman

While working as a nuclear scientist at the "Atomic Institute," Barry Dale absorbs the "power of the atom" through unconscious exposure to nuclear materials and gains superpowers as a result. As described by Barry himself: "Evidently my body is so geared as a result of working on radium and uranium that it can explode atoms and give me atomic strength." He uses his new abilities -- such as super strength, flight, speed, invulnerability, "atomic vision," and the ability to heat his body so that he can weld metal with his hands -- to fight crime.

 Atomic Thunderbolt
After WWII, Professor Josiah Rhonne was looking for a way to end the threat of nuclear annihilation. He came up with the idea to transform people by changing their atomic structure to make them immune to radioactivity and durable enough to survive a nuclear explosion. He needed a human test subject, and he found one when he stumbled across William "Willy the Wharf Rat" Burns - a former merchant marine who has suffering from a Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder ever since his ship was hit by a Nazi torpedo. Feeling that he was too damaged to be any good at anything, Willy agreed to participate in Professor Rhonne's experiment. However, while conducting the experiment, Professor Pronne accidently triggered a nuclear reaction. The explosion destroyed his castle and everything in it, but Willy survived. In an ironic twist, the experiment worked - but because Professor Phonne perished, there was no way to duplicate it.

Nonethless, Willy decided to try to carry on the professor's dream and "save mankind from itself" as the Atomic Thunderbolt. Today, Willy's grandson takes up the mantle of The Atomic Thunderbolt to fight crime.

Using his powers and a lightning gun given to him by Bertoff, Parrish takes up the name the Blue Bolt and battles the underground forces of the evil Green Sorceress. After a year, the Blue Bolt discovers that World War II has started. He journeys back to the surface to fight against the Nazis.

The Flame
Gary Preston is the son of Charteris Preston who was a missionary in China when Gary was a baby. The Preston's were not in China long before they were victims of a catastrophic flood that caused Charteris to put his son is a basket and hope that he would be safe from the flood. Gary washed up in Tibet where he was taken in by a mysterious clan of people who taught him the ways to control fire. Among the many things he learned was how to control the size of fire and the temperature of fire, how to raise his body heat to a temperature that would melt steal bullets as they were shot as him, how to teleport himself from inside one flame to another and back no matter how small the flame, even as small as the size a match. When Gary became an adult he moved back to the United States and became the superhero known simply as the Flame.
